NAB launches property portal to combat housing scams

The National Accountability Bureau has launched a property portal named Online Property Information System to protect citizens from fraud by illegal housing societies.
NAB has also directed development authorities across Punjab to submit layout plans that have been approved for all housing schemes. Furthermore, NAB has written to the housing secretary to provide official records and related documentation of housing societies.
NAB plans to link all layout plans, standard operating procedures, approval details and other related documentation to housing societies to its online portal. This will allow investors to verify details about any housing society before making any decisions, particularly useful for overseas Pakistanis. Currently, NAB claims to have acquired details of over a 1000 housing projects in Pakistan with additional details to be added once the required documents are provided
