Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has begun moving towards digitalization. The Town Planning wing of LDA is set to be completely digitalized, while manual notices will be eliminated from all wings of LDA.

Furthermore, in an attempt to reduce forgeries and fake notices, LDA will now add QR codes (also known as Quick Response codes) on all its notices. In the future, only LDA notices with QR codes will be issued to reduce chances of fraud substantially as the public will be able to scan the QR code on the notice, which should lead to online version of the notice to determine its authenticity.

In addition, LDA will also create a digital record of all illegal constructions, illegal penalties and any additional notices for transparency. Also, to facilitate citizens, LDA aims to provide various services such as land use change, amalgamation, subdivision etc. online.

Finally, to make citizens’ lives easier, LDA has also decided to reduce the number of documents required for online building plan approval that need to be submitted at LDA’s online portal.
