Punjab Approves REITs for development

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sealed several commercial properties in Bahria Town Phase-VIII, Rawalpindi. The development came about because as per RDA Enforcement Squad, the commercial properties violated the approved maps and building plans.

As per RDA, the owners of the commercial properties had been issued notices and warnings before but refused to take any actions to correct the identified problems.

RDA had another run-in with Bahria Town Phase-VIII Rawalpindi in April this year when it demolished several ‘illegal’ encroachments, billboards and hoardings, claiming they were taking action in response to violation of the approved Layout Plan with illegal conversion of various green belts and public roads into commercial plots.
