Excise dept. to collect sanitation fees from Punjab

After the Government of Punjab gave its approval regarding implementation of a uniform sanitation fee collection model for urban areas of Punjab, the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department will begin collection of this sanitation fee from urban areas of Punjab including from residents in cities such as Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan.
The schedule of charges will depend on the property’s size and nature. The charges will only be applied to areas which have an agreement with Suthra Punjab Authority. As such DHAs, Cantt and private housing schemes will not be included as they have their own cleanliness, solid waste management and sanitation fee/billing systems.
The schedule of charges approved by the Cabinet of Punjab Government for sanitation fee is as follows:

| Small Businesses / Commercial | PKR 500 |
| 5 to 10 Marla (Urban Domestic) | PKR 500 |
| Medium Businesses / Commercial | PKR 1,000 |
| 10 to 20 Marla (Urban Domestic) | PKR 1,000 |
| 20 to 40 Marla (Urban Domestic) | PKR 2,000 |
| Large Businesses / Commercial | PKR 3,000 |
| Above 40 Marla (Urban Domestic) | PKR 4,000 |
