Biggest scam in Islamabad society uncovered

The Islamabad Cooperative Housing Society (ICHS) has become mired in a major scandal involving a huge scandal. The society is currently under investigation by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Sources familiar with the investigation have revealed that the layout plan submitted by the society to Capital Development Authority (CDA) which was approved has space in the land bank for about 6000 plots.

However, the former officials for the society have sold far more files than 6000. To this date, the investigators have identified 42,000 plot files that have been sold in the name of the society. This means about 36,000 of the files sold in the society’s name are fake. The scale of the fraud has prompted some investigators to refer to it as one of the biggest real estate scams in Pakistan.
